5th Brazilian Carnival in Calgary Join us for a night of authentic Brazilian live music with a Samba Brasil Dance Group and Capoeira show. Including a matinee for kids aged 4 to 6 February 16
16th Annual $100 Film Festival This is an annual three day festival showcasing local, national, and international short films. March 13-15 at 7pm

Family Fun Weekend #3 Incorporating encaustics, paints, and a mix of textural art materials, paint an expressive interpretation of Alberta's landscape. The materials will inspire you to develop a new understanding of different tools and their uses. February 23 & 24 from 1 - 4pm

Leopards and Tigers and Bears, Oh my! Join biologist John Paczkowski on a trip to the Russian far east to explore the biology of large carnivores in the region. Learn about Amur Leopards and the largest remaining population of tigers that are both under threat of poaching and habitat loss. Then head to the Kamchatka peninsula to see some of the biggest brown bears in Eurasia. February 28 from 7-9pm
The Listener (Children's Discovery) The conductor has planned to present a concert exploring the many art forms in which the orchestra is involved, but his efforts are complicated by the unexpected participation of two overtly enthusiastic spectators. The Grand Canyon in Arizona is truly one of Earth's most awe-inspiring natural features. Join the Lund brothers as they recount their 4-day exploration on foot of the Grand Canyon and its many surprises. February 28 from noon - 12:45pm
Storytime at the Zoo
Listen to all you favourite zoo/animal stories in the Conservatory's Palm Garden Terrace. Zoo education volunteers will read wonderful animal stories from a selection of children's books and show neat things for the kids to look at and touch. These stories are suitable for children aged 3 - 5 years old. Thursday's January 17 thru April 24 from 11 - 11:30am

Are you looking for something different and personal to give your special someone for Valentine's this year? Create homemade scrumptious chocolates with adorable packaging made with love. All supplies included and children over 10 welcome when accompanied by an adult. February 10 from 9am to 12pm
Valentine's with Gorillas
Valentine's Day enrichment "presents" for these fascinating apes. In an interpretive program you will also learn how we enrich our gorillas on a daily basis and learn about their behaviour, social structure and how to identify each of our gorillas. Then, watch them enjoy the fruits of your labour as they savour the tasty treats you made. February 3 from 1 - 4pm
Bring your 18 month - 5 year old child for a special visit with some of the coolest animals at the Zoo. Children will get up close and personal with small handleable animals and animal artifacts in a private classroom setting. Everyone can approach and explore at their own pace no matter their age or knowledge level. Up to two children per adult is permitted. Birds: February 2 & 6 Tickets: $12/person + gate admission
